Installation Support

Our installation support keeps commercial kitchen projects moving in Durban and KwaZulu-Natal. We confirm access, coordinate trades and plan each delivery so equipment arrives ready for setup, testing and handover.

How we book your installation in

Every installation starts with a booking call or email through our contact form. From there, our team confirms the site address, contact person, access times and the items due for delivery. If the kitchen is in Glen Anil, Durban North, Umhlanga, Pinetown, Ballito or Pietermaritzburg, we also check whether the site has loading bay access, stairs, narrow passages or limited parking for the delivery vehicle.

For larger sites such as restaurants, hospitals and canteens, we schedule the work in the right order so cooking equipment, prep stations, stainless work areas and refrigeration units do not arrive before the room is ready. That helps avoid delays and reduces damage during handling.

  • Confirm delivery date and receiving hours
  • Check site contact, phone numbers and gate access
  • Review any height or width restrictions
  • Match delivery with the planned installation sequence

What we check before the team arrives

A smooth installation depends on the site being ready. Before our installers arrive, we ask for a final check on floors, walls, drainage, gas points, water points and power supply. Where extractor systems are involved, we also confirm ceiling height, roof access and duct routes. In coastal areas like Durban and Umhlanga, we pay close attention to corrosion risks and ventilation because salt air can shorten the life of certain fittings if the wrong materials are used.

We also look at load-shedding impact. If the site has not yet got backup power sorted, commissioning may need to be timed around available supply for refrigeration and control panels. That way we can test equipment properly and avoid false faults caused by power interruptions.

  • Power points and isolators in the right position
  • Water, drainage and gas connections completed
  • Floor space cleared for each unit
  • Waste routes and packaging removal agreed in advance

Coordinating delivery, lifting and placement

Delivery day needs proper coordination, especially on busy sites where other contractors are still working. Our projects manager and installation foreman work with the client to confirm where each item must go, who will receive it and which route the equipment will take into the kitchen. Heavy items are moved carefully to protect tiles, epoxy floors and stainless finishes.

We keep the installation order practical: large refrigeration first, then cooking lines, then food prep and storage. If stainless fabrication items are included, we place them once the main equipment is set out so final measurements still match the actual site conditions. Small misalignments can cause big problems later, so we check it on site, not after the fact.

  • Map the route from truck to kitchen
  • Protect floors, door frames and walls
  • Place heavy equipment before smaller items
  • Confirm clear working space for final adjustments

Commissioning and first test runs

Once everything is in place, we commission the equipment and carry out basic checks. This can include checking temperatures, burners, switches, thermostats, seals, drainage, fan operation and extractor airflow. If the site includes cold rooms or undercounter fridges, we allow enough time for temperatures to stabilise before handover. That matters on busy Durban sites where the kitchen needs to start trading quickly.

Our team records what has been connected, what still needs final sign-off and any items that must be handed over to the maintenance team later. If there is an issue, we deal with it on site where possible. If a follow-up part or adjustment is needed, we note it clearly so the client is not left guessing.

Staff handover and practical use guidance

Installation support does not stop when the equipment is switched on. We also show staff how to use the equipment safely and keep it in working order. That includes daily start-up checks, basic cleaning, safe shut-down and what to do if a unit does not behave as expected. For hospitals and canteens, this is especially useful where shifts change and several people may use the same equipment across the day.

A short handover saves time later. If the team knows which switch does what, where to check for a blockage and how to avoid overloading shelves or drawers, the kitchen runs better and calls for breakdown repairs usually drop.

  • Walk through controls and operating points
  • Explain cleaning and care requirements
  • Show staff the safe shut-down process
  • Leave a clear point of contact for support

Preventive maintenance after installation

We can arrange preventive maintenance after installation so the equipment keeps performing properly. This is useful for sites that cannot afford downtime, especially where lunch service, patient meals or production schedules run on tight times. Regular checks help spot worn seals, blocked drains, loose fittings and temperature drift before they cause a full breakdown.

In KwaZulu-Natal, heat and humidity can place extra strain on refrigeration and stainless fittings. Regular servicing helps protect the investment and keeps the kitchen compliant with day to day hygiene expectations. If a client needs breakdown repairs later, our team already knows the site, the layout and the equipment list, which saves time on diagnosis.

Why site coordination matters in KZN

Many delays on kitchen projects come from poor access planning, not the equipment itself. A site may look ready on paper but still have late builders, blocked loading areas, missing power or an unannounced plumbing snag. Our support process reduces those risks by keeping the installer, supplier and client on the same page from the start.

From Glen Anil and Durban North through to Pinetown, Ballito and Pietermaritzburg, we have seen that the best projects are the ones with clear booking, proper access checks and honest communication. That is what our installation support is built around, no fuss just practical coordination that gets the kitchen working.

Questions we get asked

What do you need from us before installation day?

We need the site address, receiving contact, access times, and confirmation that power, water, drainage and gas points are ready. If there are loading restrictions or security requirements, tell us early.

Do you help with extractor and ventilation planning?

Yes. We check extractor routes, ceiling clearances and site conditions before installation so the equipment fits the kitchen layout properly and the airflow can be set up correctly.

Can you support sites outside Durban?

Yes, we work across KwaZulu-Natal including Pietermaritzburg, Ballito, Pinetown, Umhlanga, Durban North and Glen Anil. We schedule travel and delivery around the site location and project timing.
